One would think, that a teacher’s purpose is to grade us on the basis of our performances, progresses and competences.
One would think, that teachers are without prejudices and see us equal.
You’d be wrong: teachers, in particular, are the exact opposite. Generally do they seem to act in the opposite way of what they keep preaching.
And to quote beloved George Orwell: Some are more equal than others.
Sometimes I just wonder why do we get our education from these kind of people? Don’t they see and reflect their behavior? I just don’t understand it.
And the absolute worst kind of teachers are those who pretend to be there for you whenever you need them. Those who want to know everything about your personal life and help you. It may work out with a teacher who doesn’t teach you, but certainly not with your class teacher, as in our case. She’s been crossing the line for so many years, by asking way to personal questions and at the same time, by talking all her troubles away during class. Sometimes I just feel like attending rather a support group than a normal lesson!!!
Not that I don’t pity her, but actually it is none of our business. I wouldn’t mind if this happened once or twice, but it just got out of control. And it affects each of us. Her behavior is depressing and counterproductive. And I’m just so sick and tired of this. I don’t want to hear her problems over and over again, I have my own.
I know that teachers are human too, but what I want to say is, that there is a line between teachers and students which should not be crossed. They should focus on school matters instead of on personal ones. They shouldn’t pick favorites, but treat us equally or at least appropriate to our performances. And help us only if we want them to.
Hope some of you understand my thoughts and anger, but if there’s one thing I’ve learned and can pass over to u: Don’t let your mood ever be ruined by a teacher!!!
Bisous,
